Downtown Manhattan’s East Village is one of NYC’s most beloved neighborhood’s for good reason–just to name a few, it’s home to one of the world’s most renown centers of architectural study, a 163 year old bar, was the center of the punk rock scene and Nuyorican literary movement, and even holds a cemetery where a United States President was buried.
This is a leisurely walk through the entire neighborhood. Fans of music and art, history buffs, stories of the underworld, and curious travelers will particularly enjoy this tour!
The tour will meet at 34 Cooper Square (currently Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, former Village Voice building). Closest subways are Astor Place 6 train, 8th St/NYU R/W train, and Broadway Lafayette BDFM. Tour concludes at Astor Place
