From fair trade coffee roasters, raw chocolate makers, or vegan doughnut bakers, to a purveyor of charcuterie, cheese, beer and local provisions; or from fresh herbs grown in the garden of a brick-oven pizza restaurant, to an independent movie theater replete with an in-house restaurant and bar…Bushwick, Brooklyn is a bounty of freshly made products — as well as fresh ideas!
Sprinkled amongst the landscape of this gritty, post-industrial neighborhood, are innovative establishments which have rekindled the American spirit of entrepreneurialism and manufacturing. On this excursion through Bushwick, we will have the opportunity to meet some of these brilliant business owners who are revitalizing the neighborhood and supporting the local economy.
Bushwick also has a rich legacy of beer-brewing. At its height, there were 106 breweries in Brooklyn, and along Brewer’s Row in Bushwick, there were more than a dozen! Most of these massive industrial buildings have since been demolished, but one has been repurposed as Brooklyn’s newest and most ingeniously curated bar, public house, and performance space. Come join us on an adventure to discover the Bounty of Bushwick!
